Punctuated by acrobats performing feats of derring-do, AHRA executive director Ed Cronin dispatched the duties of the annual business meeting with unusual aplomb.

Cronin shared the news that the AHRA has revamped its web site http://www.ahraonline.org to enable easier navigation, user comments, and ratings. He also urged members to “get pinned” by stopping by the AHRA Education Foundation booth and donating $25 or more. It was a busy month for web developers because Radiology Business Journal and ImagingBiz.com also launched a new imaging portal http://imagingbiz.com.

Before he left the stage, Cronin announced three generous gifts to the Education Foundation, made by Echoserve, Hitachi Medical Systems America, and Toshiba America Medical Systems. In keeping with the larger-than-life tone of the meeting, Catherine Wolfe, Toshiba marketing director, presented an oversized $50,000 check to the Patient First Program, which provides grants to implement patient safety programs. Sheldon Schaeffer, VP, general manager, MR/CT, Hitachi, presented a $25,000 unrestricted grant to the foundation. Chris Cone from Echoserve also presented a great big $25,000 gift to the foundation.
