Today marks the first day of RSNA 2010; it also marks the launch of a new radiation safety campaign, Image Wisely. Aimed at educating radiologists, referring physicians, medical physicists and RTs about the importance of adult radiation protection, the campaign's charter members include ACR, RSNA, AAPM, and ASRT. Together, they'll be working to provide educational resources aimed at all of these stakeholders at the campaign's website, imagewisely.org (check it out!). "Image Wisely is asking stakeholders to actually commit -- by pledging their support and utilizing available radiation safety resources," notes James A. Brink, MD, chair of the ACR/RSNA Joint Task Force on Adult Radiation Protection, in today's RSNA Daily Bulletin. If you're here at RSNA, you can stop by the ACR, ASRT or AAPM booths (2809, 605 and 400 respectively) or RSNA Services to take the Image Wisely pledge and get a super-cool ribbon like the one pictured above. For extra credit, attend Brink's session on Current Issues in Radiation Safety tomorrow at 4:30 in room S404AB.
