Varian Medical Systems exhibited its flat panel detectors, X-ray tubes, and digital radiography imaging software at MEDICA in Dusseldorf, Germany from November 14th-17th — a possible preview of the Palo Alto, Calif., company's plans for RSNA.
The highlighted products were the PaxScan 4336X, the MCS8064 X-ray tube, and the i5DR digital radiography imaging system.
The PaxScan 4336X features improvements over the previous generation with enhanced low dose imaging and 16-bit data acquisition. The X platform is optimized for dose efficiency and very low electronic noise. The new design has optional handles, a built-in shock sensor, and extensive on-panel diagnostics. The MCS 8064 X-ray tube is an anode end grounded (AEG) CT replacement X-ray tube for the GE LightSpeed VCT scanner offering lower life cycle costs. The i5DR system is designed to be installed into new or existing radiographic rooms or mobile X-ray systems. It supports multiple flat panel detectors.
