The Association for Medical Imaging Management (AHRA) and Toshiba are seeking applicants for their 2012 Putting Patients First Program, which could award as much as $60,000 in grant support to practitioners working to improve patient safety and comfort via best-practices education.

In all, seven grants will be awarded, six each of $7500 for single-site hospitals and imaging centers, and one $20,000 grant for an Integrated Delivery Network (IDN) working on “programs, trainings or seminars aimed at improving pediatric or adult patient care and safety within diagnostic imaging.”

Three of the smaller grants will be awarded to projects focusing on overall patient care and safety; the other three will go to projects with a pediatric focus. The IDN grant will be awarded to a system-wide project.

AHRA will publish an article about the grant recipients, and the winning entries will have their programs compiled into a best practices model. Applications are due October 15.
