Dissatisfied with the limited sanctions levied against New Milford, CT radiologist Michael Waldman, Diane D’Amato, the widow of a patient who died in his care, has filed a wrongful death suit.

According to the News-Times of Danbury, CT, D’Amato is suing “basically because I felt like the reprimand from the Medical Examining Board was not sufficient," she said.

In the suit, D’Amato alleges that Waldman perforated the spleen of her late husband, Thomas, and sent him home without telling him what had happened or monitoring his condition--information that was previously used in forming the examining board sanctions against him.

Waldman is currently unemployed.
