Former Sonix CEO Busted for Alleged 401K Theft

The ex-CEO of the bankrupt Sonix Medical Resources of Hauppauge, NY, was arrested this week for allegedly stealing nearly $300,000 from his employees’ pension funds.

For two years, Suffolk County prosecutors say, Om Soni, 67, dipped into the company till to fund a lavish lifestyle that included an Oyster Bay mansion, a custom Porsche, two Bentleys, and a Lamborghini.

Soni pled not guilty to felony charges of second-degree grand larceny and first-degree scheme to defraud.

In 2010, three former Sonix facilities were purchased out of bankruptcy for $2.25 million by RadNet, Inc.
