The annual HIMSS conference kicked off Monday in Las Vegas with more than 300 exhibitors. Keynote speakers to the five-day conference are expected to address the future in health information regulation and what to expect after the upcoming 2012 election.
Highlights at the Venetian Sands Expo Center include a keynote address from Biz Stone, Twitter co-founder. On Thursday, Farzad Mostashari, MD, National Coordinator for Health Information Technology, will discuss the many changes to federal policy as it relates to meaningful use criteria and other regulations.
An interview with Mostashari can also be read in the current issue of Radiology Business Journal.
For a chance to influence national policy, the College for Healthcare Information Management said Monday it was looking for volunteers for its various advocacy issues, including meaningful use.
