Philips Healthcare has made an additional donation of nearly $9,000 to help the American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT) Education and Research Foundation support members who volunteer in under-served communities and provide quality medical imaging and radiation therapy services for populations in need.
In the press release, the Foundation said it planned to use the funds to support several different ASRT programs including the RAD-AID ASRT Foundation Radiologic Technologists Fellowship Program for Developing Countries and the American College of Radiology's Partnership for Haiti Radiology Education Days.
"Providing underserved communities with state-of-the-art medical imaging and radiation therapy services is an ongoing goal for Philips,” added Chuck Kreidinger, Philips Healthcare’s director of clinical education, in the press release. “[The] ASRT Foundation offers programs we can use to make sure patients around world are receiving the care they need."
The donation comes on top of Philips Healthcare’s already existing support for the Foundation as a platinum level member of its Health Care Industry Advisory Council. Other imaging vendor partners of the ASRT include AGFA, Bayer Healthcare, Elekta, GE Healthcare, Hologic, Siemens and Varian.
