The Toronto-based radiology IT provider RamSoft is the latest company to launch a cloud-based digital platform. Its PowerServer Cloud Canada will offer imaging centers and hospitals a secure PIPEDA-compliant cloud-based RIS/PACS that it says will be more affordable because it will not require a major IT investment in onsite servers and can be launched in a matter of weeks.
“Not all imaging facilities can hire a full time IT department to manage their system,” said Vijay Ramanathan, president and CEO of RamSoft in the press release. “We recognized this as an opportunity to offer our radiology workflow applications as fully-hosted, fully-managed solutions to imaging centers across Canada.”
Pricing for the service will be based on use. To ensure the system is as reliable as possible, data is stored on servers distributed across multiple facilities and RamSoft has included a “complete disaster recovery solution” in the service at no extra cost. It says the service is compliant with industry security standards, PIPEDA and provincial privacy acts.
RamSoft, an IT software and services company with over 19 years of experience in radiology workflow, also has a strong presence in the United States for its PowerServer™ Series of PACS, RIS/PACS, teleradiology, and patient information management systems. The company has offered a cloud-based digital platform in the United States for the past three years.
