The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has given 510(k) clearance for VitreaView, a new universal viewer from Minneapolis-based Vital Images Inc.
The new viewer provides uniform access to all images within patient imaging and is designed for access through the Electronic Medical Record (EMR), Electronic Health Record (EHR) and Health Information Exchange (HIE). Clinicians accessing VitreaView can use Web-enabled devices, including Windows or Mac-based systems, for review of DICOM and non-DICOM medical images. This gives them unrestricted access through the EMR, EHR or HIE to all patient imaging, Vital Images states.
