XIFIN, the revenue-cycle management vendor based in San Diego, has begun working with teleradiology titan vRad to market a one-stop mashup of all diagnostic reports from radiology, pathology and clinical labs.
The new iteration of consolidated diagnostic reports (CDR) will allow pathologists and radiologists to ferret out clinical discordance and enable faster and more precise diagnoses, according to a joint news release.
The companies said the CDR will combine elements of XIFIN’s ProNet, a comprehensive online information and digital consultation forum for global pathology, with aspects of vRad’s mammoth PACS, which handled more than 1.3 billion radiology images in 2014.
The collaboration will first offer the workflow solution to referring oncologists and their patients.
“Leading health institutions have proven that when radiologists and pathologists collaborate, patients get better care at lower costs to themselves and the healthcare system as a whole,” said Lâle White, CEO of XIFIN.
“XIFIN and vRad are uniquely positioned to innovate by combining our technology platforms and industry-leading clinical services to challenge and transform traditional diagnostic reporting,” added vRad CEO Jim Burke. “We see much potential to combine our clinical and technical expertise to improve coordinated care for physicians and their patients.”
