Siemens Multix Fusion Digital Radiography System Receives FDA Clearance
Siemens Healthcare has announced that the Multix Fusion digital radiography system has received 510(k) clearance from the FDA and is now available commercially in the United State. The Multix Fusion features a digital cassette-sized flat-panel detector, height-adjustable table with a 660-pound weight capacity, and a touch screen at the overhead tube suspension for exam parameter changes at the patient’s side. It was designed to help users easily position patients on the system or move the digital detector to accommodate patient location. The Multix Fusion provides enhanced image contrast with its DiamondView Plus on-board post-processing tool, and the automated image processing parameter provides settings based on organ programs. A 71-inch-long telescopic column allows the tube to be pulled down directly above the floor even in rooms with high ceilings, so patients can avoid climbing onto the table for examinations such as foot images. The Multix Fusion comes in several system variants. Options range from the simplest version with ceiling-mounted tube and cassette to the complete digital X-ray system, which includes the cassette-sized flat-panel detector, table and wall stand.
